The affiliate marketing is a performance-based marketing strategy which connects advertisers, distributors and customers using online advertising methods such as email marketing, search engine optimization, and search engine marketing. Affiliation agencies make this connection possible, being responsible of implementing the marketing campaigns for the advertisers, finding the most adequate distributors for the campaigns, and monitoring the campaign effectiveness.
To achieve these goals, several technological challenges need to be faced: advertisers, agencies and publisher need to be constantly connected as part of the same supply chain; impressions, click, and conversions have to be constantly monitored and registered; fraudulent connections need to be detected; Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) have to be precisely reported to advertisers, to check the campaign effectiveness.
Therefore, the candidate is expected to design and develop automatic versions of such tasks in collaboration with Lean Adv, an Eindhoven-based company working in affiliate marketing. Specifically, the candidate is expected to:
- participate in the design phase of predictive models
- develop analysis modules for complex data
The thesis will be developed in collaboration with Lean Adv.
